Energy Levels & Burnout: Where is your energy going?

Updated: Aug 17, 2022

Last week we covered goals: how to set weekly and daily goals. Now that you have the skills to become a master at goal setting, let’s make sure you do not overwork or exhaust yourself to the point of a burn out. The goal is to help you become aware of the energy exchange you’re experiencing.

What is a burnout?

A burnout is when you experience physical, mental, and emotional drainage. You are more than likely overwhelmed and feeling swamped by the amount of stress you're experiencing. This can result in both physical and mental pains, which do vary from person to person.

Why is understanding what a burnout is important?

If you become aware of your warning signs before it happens, then you can prevent yourself from experiencing a burnout. This means you already have a strong understanding of what self-care you need to do for yourself.

Burnout Breakdown: described in 5 different stages:

  1. Honeymoon - coping strategies

  2. Onset stress - awareness of stress

  3. Chronic stress - tense and frequent

  4. Burn out - self-doubt

  5. Habitual burnout - ongoing stress

The reason we cover burnout later is because I have already given you so many tools where you can impediment them as coping strategies. For example, understanding the universal laws such as: energy exchange, attraction, manifestation, and intention setting. Each of these aspects is where the groundwork is done and needed in day-to-day life. Then we dived deep into beliefs and your make up followed by mindset muscles and tools. Most recently, we touched on goals, habits, rituals, and routines as they build a strong structure that you can lean on. Each of these need to be acknowledged and experienced so you have the knowledge needed before you get caught in overdrive.

Burnout Question Reflection: ~Journaling Recommended~

  • When do you experience the most stress? What are you doing? Who are you with? Get specific and examine the event.

  • Are you getting stressed repeatedly? Is there a common theme showing up when you get stressed?

  • What is outside of your control with this stressful situation? What is in your control? How do you contribute to the stress?

  • What have you tried before to relieve stress? What haven’t you tried?

  • What does a burnout look like for you? How can you become aware of it before you experience a full on burnout?

Take time to really think about the stress in your life. Set yourself up for success by acknowledging your experience and honoring yourself through the experience.
