The power of reflecting allows the skill of focus to be reframing

Reflect & Reframe


Last week we talked about your mindset muscles and how you can re-learn and reprogram your mind. I again want to remind you: “You are not your thoughts, you are merely the observer of your thoughts”. I hope that you benefited from understanding the difference between instincts and intuition and how your senses are your on-the-go tools you can access at any time to ground yourself. Now that you have an understanding of those skills, we can begin to implement new skills: reflection and reframing.


Let's begin by understanding what each word means:

  • Reflection - to look back at what was done and evaluate the thought, actions, and beliefs that it came from; which then gives you the opportunity to learn from what was done and pull the lesson from it (this can be immediate or take years of work - neither is wrong as it will happen in divine timing)

  • Reframing - is to change your current way of thinking by taking on a new perspective, mindset, or belief


Why are these two skills so important when taking the next steps in rewiring your brain?


  1. Reflections allows you the chance to learn and reframing gives you the opportunity to shift from one perspective to another.

  2. Reflection is the ability to grow so that you can reframe your mindset from what was to what now will be.

  3. Reflection pushes you to not repeat what was already done and reframing adds in the accountability of making that shift with actions.


Do you see how these two skills go hand-in-hand? They are the perfect duo to take you from awareness to actions. I will say that again for the ones who need it, reflection and reframing bring you from AWARENESS TO ACTION!

After the session, it is your job to put the newfound awareness to action and your coach can hold you accountable in doing just that.
